about

"Soon I’ll Be Moving On" is a song Sean wrote about quitting his former band. The song explores the paranoia, anger and resignation one feels when about to lose something or someone important. It is written from an imagined perspective of his former band mates and brings a sense of cognitive dissonance to the listener when Sean refers to himself as a "dirty bastard" and "double-crosser" over the sweet, piano-laden verses. It begins softly with a haunting piano intro and grows into a powerful rock chorus with an intriguing but catchy chord progression. Ironically, the release of this song about Sean quitting music is now being used by him to re-establish himself in the music scene.

Sean was responsibile for all writing, performing, recording, and producing responsibilities in this video.

Soon I'll Be Moving On
by Sean Boots

Dirty bastard how could you let me down
When you made that promise to stick around
Bet you didn't realize how long I've been counting your lies
And sifting through lists of false alibis

It's too late to feel remorse
You drove us off the course
Maybe I shouldn't have placed the cart before the horse
You should have passed the reins
To someone who's not changing lanes
To someone who'll always remain the same

Now it's like you're already gone
And if you've given up please don't keep me hanging on
'Cause you've done the time having committed no crime
If the conclusion's forgone, soon I'll be moving on

Double crosser why do you even try
To make amends when you know that I've closed my mind
There's nothing left to say
We've already passed judgment day
The gavel's swung down and you're on your way

Now it's like you're already gone
And if you've given up please don't keep me hanging on
'Cause you've done the time having committed no crime
If the conclusion's forgone, soon I'll be moving on

And I won't hear a word that you say
Because it's true sometimes
the more that you find out the less you really know
and it's not that you can't feel the same way that I do
It's the part where you don't believe
that I could ever stand on my own

Now it's like you're already gone
And if you've given up please don't keep me hanging on
'Cause you've done the time having committed no crime
If the conclusion's forgone, soon I'll be moving on

I'll be moving on
